I was going to go, but have a major thing we're prepping for San Diego, so had to bow out (and will be having a bigger book tour for the above this Fall...)
I'll be at the Storyopolis Gallery on the 28th for the Eisner exhibit, though.
I was looking at my copy of the second book last night, and wondering if I can get a hardcover of the first, because they are gorgeous books (plus I want to start with the first one).
Today, when I saw your post previous to this one, I thought, wow, coppervale's artistic style looks like that book I was looking at last night....
Duh!!!!
The dangers of not using your real name as your LJ handle.... ;-)
Yes, it is fun! And I have to say, your books are gorgeous. I look forward to reading them. I'm always so impressed when an author is also an artist (or vice versa!).
This is the second time this has happened to me recently. A few months ago I realized I'd been on the Norton jury all last year with an author whose books my husband and I had been enjoying. In his case he was using a pseudonym, though.
We could get all Meta about whether he's a good influence on other storytellers, because he's always distracting them with his stories (including artwork). Start our own "war of the caretakers" about the proper duty of authors to encourage each other..... Heh. Okay. Maybe not.
I am looking forward to it, Mr. Owen, your stories are just great.
It is nice to know you have this livejournal, as an easier way to stay in touch with you. Maybe you have received a little MS Excel timeline of the Caretakers I sent you?
ok so I'm late on this... but that is one gorgeous cover!!! This is my favorite of all the covers..yep yep.. can't wait to add it to the other two books!

But isn't the revelatory "Oh, so X is Y!" fun? Heh.

I'm pretty sure we can get you a hardcover of the first, personalized, and with a dragon drawing.
;)
That sucks. Of course, I SHOULD be finishing my own books instead of coveting yours, but that's a story for another day.
But it was fun to toy with the idea.
Back to work... all of us. ;-)

Anyway, thanks for posting this!
